1. International City is a world-class development that combines commercial, residential, retail and tourism interest in one project, poised to be the business and cultural hub of the Middle East. International City aims to attract local and international businesses, retailers, commercial establishments, traders, residents and tourists.
2. International City is located in the Al Warsan area of Dubai 12 kilometres from Dubai International Airport at the intersection of Al Aweer Road, Academic Road and Emirates Road.
3. International City will complement Dubai’s vision to be the premier destination in the Middle East on the commercial, business, tourist and cultural fronts.
4. International City is set in a development of approximately 800 hectares.
5. The period of planning the project before the construction took 1 year.

12. International City’s uniqueness lies in the wide range of business activities and interests and the different national themes found within the residential district. The idea behind this pre-designed complex which contains commercial, retail, residential and touristic units is to offer visitors a chance to enjoy the diversity of cultural and architectural specialties from different parts of the world.
13. International City is categorized into five main districts:
14. Central District: Spread over 21 hectares, this district serves as the nerve center of the project, with state of the art infrastructure and services for commercial activity. The Central District comprises of 34 plots, where investors can develop their own projects in line with International City themes and aesthetics. All 10 storey towers in the Central District will house retail outlets on the ground floor and each tower will have basement parking for 130 vehicles. The key feature of the Central District will be a 30-to 40-floor tower covering 50,000 square metres. This tower will house a shopping mall at its base.

Residential District: Set in 300 hectares of land, the district will be constructed in 9 distinct architectural styles from various countries around the world including 4 from China, 2 from England, 2 from France, and 1 from each of Greece, Italy, Morocco, Persia, Russia, and Spain. The Residential District will host a population of 65,000 to 75,000 people in 27,435 residential units.
Residential unit comprises of 1 bedroom apartments and studio flats. Some of the residential blocks will also host a variety of retail outlets at their base for the benefit of the residents. The France segment for example will have 1,534 apartments, 1,780 studio flats and 1,064 retail outlets, while the Greece segment will have 780 apartments, 952 studio flats and 441 retail outlets.

16. Lake District: It is being developed around Al Warsan Lake. Al Warsan is a 100 hectare lake; the depth of the lake varies from 4-4.5 metre. It was discovered by birdwatchers at the end of 1998 and has more than 186 species of birds including some of the most exotic and rare birds found in the Arabian Peninsula and Asian regions, which cover 45% of the total existing species of birds in the UAE.
17. DragonMart Complex: The DragonMart Complex comprises the DragonMart, affordable residential units and eight fully equipped warehouses which are being used by traders. The DragonMart Complex is considered the largest trading hub for Sino products outside mainland China. It is spread over an area of 150,000 square metres and is supplemented by 30,000 square metres of warehouses and 25 residential buildings.
18. Forbidden City: A 240,000 square metre replica of the Forbidden City of China. The development will host a variety of entertainment facilities, in addition to retail and restaurant developments and public squares.
19. International City will house entertainment facilities and outdoor theatres. Residential area will host commercial shops, restaurants, medical centres, post office, police station, two civil defense units and transportation services in order to provide high standards of living to residents.
20. International City has provided residential and commercial space at accessible prices.
21. 75 % of the residential buildings are expected to be delivered by the end of 2006 and the remaining 25 percent will be completed in 2007.
